Resolution Provides Full Audio Postproduction on Michael Keaton’s, The Merry Gentleman

What's worse — a good person who treats you badly, or a bad person who treats you with kindness?
That perplexing question was the inspiration for The Merry Gentleman — the story of Kate Frazier (played by Kelly MacDonald) who flees to a new home and new job from an abusive relationship with her policeman husband, only to find herself drawn to Frank Logan (played by Michael Keaton), a seemingly kind man with a dark secret of his own.
As the story unfolds against an urban Chicago landscape that seems both breathtakingly beautiful and starkly quiet, Kate and Frank's friendship becomes one of necessity and survival for these two lost souls.
The sound team at Resolution Digital Studios provided full audio post on the film which not only starred, but was also directed by Michael Keaton. Resolution's Bryen Hensley was the Supervising Sound Editor, with Jamie Vanadia of Noise Floor providing Sound Design.
In addition, the team was responsible for ADR, Foley, and all dialogue editing and premixing. Resolution did a number of temp mixes, and the final theatrical mix, which was supervised by Bryen Hensley and Steve Jones (one of the film's producers), was done at Sound One Corp. in NY.
The Merry Gentleman is a heady mix of suspense, gentle romance and quiet humor — a riveting, uniquely entertaining tale of forgiveness and redemption that blends a hopeful spirit with a surprisingly dark heart.
