Audio Production Team from Resolution’s Sound Design Department Complete Work for Guilty Party Video Game Release

March 2010

Guilty Party is a family-friendly mystery party game developed exclusively for the Wii™ home game console. The whodunit video game was created by Wideload Games and Disney Interactive Studios Chicago.

The audio team at Resolution Digital Studios has also been working away on the game which is slated for release during the second half of 2010. After a year and half of strict silence, the game was finally announced a few weeks ago by Wideload and Disney. Resolution’s Bryen Hensley and Steve Maslan, along with long time collaborator/composer Michael Salvatori, have wrapped up the last set of deliverables for the game.

Resolution was contracted to provide all of the dialog and music for the game. In all, there were 8,200 lines of dialog that actually made it into the game, although many, many more were recorded. Twenty-four characters were voiced by eight actors. Industry pros Tim Dadabo, John Hoogenakker, Craig Brolley, Ilyssa Fradin, Donna Jay Fulks, Amy Warren, Amanda McKnight and Elizabeth Ledo provided their vocal talents.

All dialog had to be sweetened, mixed and named before it gets inserted into the game. Mike Salvatori provided all of the musical game elements which included the main theme song, background music for each location in the game, all of the mini-games and puzzles, various short stingers and 18 cut scenes that play over the course of the game.

In addition to writing all of the dialog, Wideload Games’ lead writer Matt Soell worked closely with Resolution to direct the voice sessions, and with Mike Salvatori on all of the music compositions throughout the process.

Players of all ages follow the thrilling tale of the Dickens Detective Agency while uncovering clues to solve crimes in a variety of locations all over the world. Using both cooperative and competitive gameplay, players explore crime scenes and play mini-games to collect clues and interrogate suspects. Guilty Party transforms the Wii Remote into classic detective tools: a magnifying glass, a flashlight, a lock-pick, a fingerprint kit, and more.

Guilty Party is the first new franchise developed by Wideload Games for Disney Interactive Studios. The game's characters and locations are inspired by classic detective lore, with the storytelling, unique humor and art style that have distinguished Wideload Games as a leader in developing a portfolio of unique and creative games.
